Projects

INTBAU Norway has been involved in a number of EEA-funded projects for the past 15 years; several in Romania and one in Hungary. The projects have been linked to cultural heritage protection and the development of villages and local communities, both socially, economically, and environmentally.

From 2021 Intbau Norway is a partner in several heritage and blue-green infrastructure projects in Poland.

Baroque palace in Goszcz

The Palace complex was built in 1755 and designed by the Silesian architect of the Baroque era, Karl Martin Frantz. The entire manor-palace complex was grouped around a rectangular courtyard with three entrance gates led to it. On Christmas Eve 1947, a fire broke out in the palace. Despite the actions of the fire brigade units, the palace burnt down completely and was never rebuilt. In 2013, the authorities of the Twardogóra commune renovated some of the buildings on the western side of the complex, outbuilding I, the house of the palace servants I, and the building connecting them

The main task of the project in which INTBAU Norge is the partner is to secure the construction of the walls in the main body of the building, as a permanent ruin. Also, detail maintenance preventing from destruction. Adjusting the palace for tourists' visits by adding a viewing platform, illumination, and monitoring.

Kalnoky castle in Transylvania, Romania

The “Museum of Transylvanian Life – Heritage Initiative Project”, is funded by EEA and carried out between November 2014 and  April 2017.

The promoter/initiator of the project is the Kálnoky Foundation, in partnership with INTBAU Norway.

Restoration of Kalnoky Castle in Miklosvar, Transylvania. A cultural history museum has been established in the building. We contributed with professional guidance from Norwegian architects associated with INTBAU Norway and organized lectures and workshops on traditional crafts with hands-on work.

Willa Waleria

Willa Waleria lies not far from Warszawa in the beautiful green suburb area of Milanowek.

The subject is the revitalization of the Willa Waleria .which was originally a house and will be transformed into a place for cultural education.

Willa Waleria dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and is associated with a family of artists.  It used to be a place for informal meetings of Polish artists and designers.

Major renovation and transformation into a place promoting Polish art, allowing the organization of exhibitions and a variety of workshops.

INTBAU Norway is a partner and adviser for the renovation process and will take part in organizing a range of educational activities.

Renovation of the former rafinery FANTO

The fourth project is located in southeast Poland in the area of the Bieszczady mountains.

It is an industrial building of the former refinery, dated 1887.

The building is a valuable testimony to the history of the region, which was related to the extraction and processing of crude oil.

The project is a total renovation and adaptation of the interior for establishing the Bieszczady Center of Cultural Heritage. The facility will be a place of integration of the local community.

Cultural center in Stalowa Wola

The building is dated to 1953 and was built in a social-realistic style. Currently, it is used as a Municipal House of Culture and it will proceed to perform this function. It is used for concerts, exhibitions, and crafts, so it plays a big role in the local community.

The project includes reconstruction, renovation, conservation works, and the purchase of modern equipment.

INTBAU Norway is a partner and will take part as a consultant for the renovation and use of the building.

Blue-green infrastructure projects

INTBAU Norway is a partner in 7 blue-green infrastructure projects in different towns in Poland. The main aim of the projects is the implementation of greenery, solar lighting, the use of rainwater, the creation of retention areas, meadows,  and city farming gardens, and finding new ways of making towns greener, and sustainable, using ecological and nature-friendly solutions and materials to improve the living environment. We organize conferences and educational activities both for adults and children.
